By Air
The closest airports are Ancona and Pescara, each about 1½ hours drive away; Rome and Bologna are about 3 hours drive.
The journey from Rome is a lovely drive which crosses the Apennine range between two beautiful national parks, the Sibillini and the Gran Sasso.
For the less adventurous the route from Bologna is all motorway until you turn away from the sea inland towards the house.
By Train
There is a regular train service along the Adriatic for links with the north, Milan or Venice. The closest station along this line is Pedaso.
Travelling from Rome in the west, Foligno is the main hub.
We would strongly recommend the hire of a car for the duration of your stay at Casa di Pietra given the location. There are of course several car hire companies at the airports but car hire can also be arranged at various train stations.
